Yoga to me is something that I can do where I can fully be myself. I’m able to get out of my head and let my body get out what it needs to. I am able to see my mind and body grow together into something that I am proud of. I connect the most with the asanas. I love moving, and I love challenges. The asanas allow me to set goals and work towards them while challenging myself and feeling great at the same time!
My yoga journey started in College. I attended a free yoga class that was held every weekday, and on the first class I was hooked. The teacher of that class is now my yoga mentor. He had so much confidence in me, that I didn’t have myself. He taught me about patience, hard work and how to not complain!! I attended that class everyday and found myself diving head first into yoga at a very fast speed!
One of the biggest takeaways from yoga that I use in everyday life is the process of unattachment. I have leaned to LET GO of things that I can’t control. If on my mat I can not attach myself to the poses, then as soon as I step off I can learn to not attach to criticism, pressure, stress and negative feelings.
Oh this is a hard one, yoga is my life! But one of my major life passions is to love. I love my family hard, I love my boyfriend hard and I love myself hard. If you are not passionate about yourself, then how can you be passionate about anything else. It should start with you.
I am a MAJOR 80’s pop music fan! I think I love 80’s music more than I love the music today. One of my favorite artists is Prince. You can catch me singing to Purple Rain any day of the week!
